Fire Arrow was established to provide an affordable approach to the development of a spaceport. We are a consortium of individuals and businesses, each with a demonstrable experience of the space sector, able to service the full value chain. Fire Arrow is able toggle our team on and off as required to meet the needs of the project and customer. We are therefore able to provide bandwidth and expertise of a prime, with the affordability and flexibility of an SME.
Simplistically, there are three forms of launch platform; vertical, horizontal and marine launch.
Within each there are subtle differences furthermore, having a distinct impact on spaceport and range design, operations and licensing. Our team are experienced in each and we also have a vertical launch operator and a horizontal launch operator as part of our consortium.
Spaceport developments are considered anchor developments as a catalyst for economic growth and the creation of employment. Our team have experience of working with communities, local businesses and we also undertake economic impact analysis.
The work on sustainability begins several years before first launch with sustainable infrastructure design and operations and extending to the de-orbiting of satellites and decommissioning of launch infrastructure. Fire Arrows team includes globally recognised champions in this arena.
The team that is required to deliver a spaceport is extensive. These projects are bespoke and each requires a unique approach to delivery and have their own challenges. On every project there will be ad hoc work needed to address unforeseen matters as and when these arise, Spaceport customers therefore need to have a flexible procurement process. This tends to be more straightforward for private clients, however, many spaceports start their journey in the pubic sector and are therefore constrained to public procurement rules.
Fire Arrow offer a call-off contract with customers - this is a single contract that customers can use to access our full suite of services. This approach offers maximum flexibility within a single services contract.
In addition to providing an extensive range technical services to support spaceport development, we also understand the business of property infrastructure development. An influential component of the spaceport business case is the development case associated with the property investment. We are experienced in property development and investment advice - funding, land acquisition and disposal.
No discussion relating to space would be complete without discussing the small print. The undertaking of space activities, whether on the ground, in the air or in space is complex and in some cases, still embryonic. Our team of space lawyers, insurers and regulatory advisors will help our customers navigate this domain.
